- Recently,
the aged-society has advanced rapidly in Japan. The households of the
aged have increased and ability for family care is decreased. The
long-term care insurance is organized at 2000, but welfare facilities
are not sufficient. It's very important to support the vulnerable old in
the community.
This department provides students with fundamental
and practical educations in supporting the fragile elderly who are
living at their homes.
Research projects in this department are being carried out with the aims of :
1) investigating the family nursing with mentally or physically damaged children.
2) managing the care methods of old-old age people who are living at homes.
Particularly the aged lying in bed, the senile dementia, intractable diseases.
3) studying the nursing care plan, health services, family context, residential nursing.
