Outline of the department
Our surgical operation center has ten rooms for inpatient-surgeries
(including two clean rooms) and one room for outpatient-surgeries, and about
3900 operations are performed annually. Regular staffs are twenty seven
nurses ( before April 2003, twenty three), two nurse assistants and four
clinical engineers (Clinical engineers also work at hemodialysis center) .
Engineers take care of all electronic instruments including systems of extra-
corporeal circulation for cardiac surgeries, percutaneous cardiopulmonary
support (PCPS) and endoscopic surgeries, and machines and monitors for
anesthesia. All anesthesia but local anesthesia is carried out by
anesthesiologists ( About 2900 operations are under general, epidural or
spinal anesthesia). The following chart is the weekly schedule of surgeries.
Besides, we are always ready for emergency surgeries day and night.
