Outline of the department

The department carries two important roles, i.e. the development and 
maintenance of the hospital information system in the Shiga University of 
Medical Science Hospital and the research. The research includes studies 
on the electronic medical recording and the human interface,studies on the 
secure and reliable network systems, studies on the virtual reality, studies 
on the micro-machines for ophthalmologic microsurgery and studies on the 
biomedical engineering of the cardiovascular examinations and interventions.
