It was modified from TR-2. A retracted radiator grill in TR-2 was pulled forward to face. TR-3A had a larger mouth of radiator grill. The engine displacement was 2000 cc but some cars called TR-3B had 2200 cc engines.
TR-4's body style was reformed completely from TR-3. TR-3A had a rear rigid suspension, while TR-4 adopted an independent rear suspension (IRS).
It was a rival of MG Midget. The engines are 1300 and 1500 cc OHV inline four. It had an unique sophisticated Italian design. An accessibility for the maintenance is good. There is a fault in the differential.
GT6 had a modified fixed head coupe body from Spitfire and an inline six engine from Herald.
