●Research Interests
My research focuses on improving the quality and safety of nursing care processes by utilizing
healthcare data and behavioral science analysis.
I am particularly interested in nurses’ situational awareness, stress management, and the development
of resilience at both the individual and organizational levels.
My work also includes research on Safety-II concepts, resilience engineering, the development of
nursing managers, social healthcare models based on an epidemiological approach, and care systems innovation.

By visualizing the complexity of real-world clinical practice, I aim to bridge the gap between work as imagined and work as
done, contributing to the resolution of clinical challenges.
Through these research activities, I hope to support healthcare professionals who sustain patients’ health and daily lives, and
to contribute to the advancement of fundamental nursing science as well
as undergraduate and graduate nursing education.
Associate Professor :TAMAKI TOMOKO

●Research Interests
I have been engaged in research on simulation-based nursing education and end-of-life care.
Currently, I am expanding my work to include the development and evaluation of nursing education
methods and learning content utilizing ICT.I am also interested in research that analyzes big data to
generate new insights.My longstanding interest lies in improving the quality of life (QOL) of older adults
and patients at the end of life, an interest that originated from my clinical experience as a nurse.
●Message
I enjoy the process of discussing, questioning, and refining ideas—thinking “this might be it,” then reconsidering—until
meaningful results emerge. The moment when findings become clear is especially rewarding.
My philosophy is to enjoy research with curiosity and enthusiasm.
Outside of work, I enjoy reading manga, playing games, and exploring good
food.

My research interests include studies on male nurses and male nursing students, as well as
research utilizing healthcare and medical information systems.

I have returned to Shiga University of Medical Science and hope to contribute by bringing my
clinical experience into my teaching. I look forward to learning alongside my students and
supporting their academic and professional growth.

I conduct research on the prevention and progression of diabetes. I also pursue interdisciplinary
research to support the delivery of high-quality nursing care.

I am interested in fostering nursing students’ intercultural competence and have begun exploring
this area of research.
I believe that intercultural understanding and adaptability are essential not only for nursing practice,
but also for long-term career development and sustainable professional engagement.
Currently, I am conducting foundational research on nurses’ self-development and career advancement, incorporating
perspectives from occupational health.
